The Agri-Food Export Group will participate in Expo Antad & Alimentaria Mexico 2025. Taking place annually in Guadalajara, this show is one of the most important gatherings of players in the food industry and retail trade in Latin America. One of the latest edition of Expo Antad & Alimentaria Mexico in March 2023, in Guadalajara, brought together more than 1,200 exhibiting companies and attracted more than 47,000 visitors to an area of almost 600,000 square feet.

Market data

Quebec exported nearly CAD 600 million in agri-food products to Mexico in 2023. This makes Mexico Quebec’s seventh largest trading partner in this sector. Across Canada, in 2022, the latter represented the second largest agri-food supplier to Mexico.

Indeed, thanks to the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), trade is facilitated between countries and the agri-food sector greatly benefits from it. This agreement strengthens economic cooperation and stimulates commercial exchanges, thus creating significant opportunities for Quebec businesses.

Quebec’s main biofood exports include pork, poultry meat, cocoa preparations, cereals, as well as various processed food products. Mexico represents an attractive market for Quebec companies wishing to expand their reach, especially in an environment where imported food products are highly valued by the middle and upper classes.
