International Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) – Agri-Food Cohort

Do you want to build an export strategy? Learn about the International Trade Accelerator Program (TAP).

1. What is the TAP?

The International Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) is designed for startups and SMEs in Quebec. It offers the opportunity to develop your export strategy in just a few weeks! Each cohort consists of about 15 companies with which you can share your issues, challenges, and experiences. In these sessions, a team of seasoned advisors specializing in marketing, finance, taxation, logistics, customs, and intellectual property will guide you in your reflections and in the implementation of an international business plan.

The TAP is conducted by the #Acclr international trade team of the Montreal Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Group Export Agri-Food.

The TAP also allows you to:

• Create your internal roadmap
• Anticipate risks (customs, financial…)
• Structure your commercial strategy
• Apply for financing

2. Why participate in the TAP?

Proven Results*

• Average growth of 23% in total sales one year after the program (average growth of 19% in export sales)
• 84% of companies that participated in the TAP export; 16% started exporting or expanded their global presence after the TAP, and more than 33% have entered new markets
• Close to 98% of participants have increased their confidence as they were better prepared

Accelerate your international development in four phases:

Phase 1: Exploration

• Familiarization with available export resources
• Presentation by high-level experts in key international trade functions
• Exchange of ideas and experiences to tackle international trade challenges

Phase 2: Development

• Drafting of the main sections of the export plan by the participants
• Personalized support
• Expert advice

Phase 3: Construction

• Writing of the plan by the participants
• Remote personalized support from export advisors
• Written evaluation of the plan by our team of experts

Phase 4: Acceleration

• Evaluation of the international strategy
• Individual meetings with international trade experts
• Individual mentoring
• Solutions and expert advice

3. How to participate in the TAP?

Eligibility Criteria*

• Generate a minimum of $500K
• Be incorporated in Quebec and in business for two years
• Designate one or two senior representatives to participate in the program

*The WTCM reserves its right to accept or reject any company, whether it meets the above criteria or not.

Program designed by the World Trade Centre Toronto and the Toronto Region Board of Trade.

Format

• Three in-person days on November 5, 6, and 13, 2024
• Location to be determined based on the number of confirmed participants, on the South Shore of Montreal

The International Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), valued at $5,000, is offered free of charge to companies thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED).
