TARGET CUSTOMERS : Employees involved in food labelling in Canada, with or without a background in labelling. – BEGINNER – INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

PREREQUISITES : Basic knowledge of the Nutrition Facts table (information on reference quantities and portion sizes will not be covered in this module).

The Group Export invites you to learn more about Health Canada’s new regulations regarding the front-of-pack nutrition symbol. This new symbol will be required for most products with a high saturated fat, sugar or sodium content. Many products will be affected by this new symbol, and the deadline for displaying it, when required, is January 1, 2026, so  now is time to become aware of it.

 

OBJECTIVES : At the end of this training course, participants will be familiar with the new requirements for the new front-of-pack nutrition symbol, and will be able to determine whether the symbol is required on their packaging.

Julie Langlois, Labelling and Regulation Director, Group Export Agri-Food
Julie Langlois is a dietetic technician with a diploma from the Cégep de Chicoutimi and has nearly 15 years of experience in the agri-food sector. She joined Group Export’s Labelling and Regulation Advisory Service in 2015 and has been managing it since 2021. Julie has an analytical mind as well as an attention to detail and precision that make her an expert with a passion for all aspects of food packaging regulations and their application.

Denitsa Dimova, Labelling and Regulation Advisor, Group Export Agri-Food
Denitsa Dimova holds a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition from McGill University. She has more than 9 years of experience in regulatory affairs in the agri-food sector and specializes in the regulation and labelling of Canadian and American products. She has been part of Group Export’s Labelling and Regulatory Advisory Team for more than 2 years.
