The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federal state consisting of seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah, all located on the Arabian Peninsula. The country has a population of over 11 million people, nearly 90% of whom are immigrants. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are international trade hubs and globally known cities.

Here are the main agri-food and seafood products exported to the UAE in 2020: milled rice, canola seeds, food preparations, and cigarettes (tobacco). The main exporting countries were India, the United States, Brazil, and the European Union. Canada was the fifth-largest exporter of agri-food and seafood products to the UAE, with exports worth 986 million Canadian dollars, representing a market share of 5.1%. Overview of the Middle East
