- Tips for entering the market
With a population of over 9.8 million in 2021, 86.8% of whom live in urban areas, the Middle East is a booming market. According to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, in 2020, “Canada was the fifth largest exporter of agri-food and seafood products to the UAE, worth C$986 million, representing a market share of 5.1%. The main Canadian exports were canola seeds, lentils, durum and common wheat, and shelled peas.” By 2020, their open economy was valued at US$354 billion.
What’s more, the presence of a huge number of foreigners in the UAE, as well as many affluent Emiratis, has introduced consumers to flavors from around the world, so there is now a demand for a wide range of international foods. Take advantage of this market, which offers excellent potential for Canadian agri-food products.
One-on-one meetings with Ms. Doré will be organized following the presentation.
