Association Québécoise de l'Industrie de la Pêche (AQIP)

The Association québécoise de l'industrie de la pêche (AQIP) is a non-profit organization founded in June 1978 by marine product processors from Quebec's maritime regions. AQIP defends the interests of these companies in dealings with the relevant authorities. From an organization that conveys the common demands of the seafood processing industry, it has become an important consultation pole for the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and for Fisheries and Oceans Canada. In addition, it plays a major role as an accredited negotiating agent for the manufacturers covered by the fishermen's joint plans in the establishment of marketing agreements.
